What better way to round off the week than to take a little time to look at an interesting workbench that promotes interaction between FreeCAD and KiCad PCB’s.

Presented at KiCon North America recently Morgan Allen has been working on KiConnect. In his fascinating talk Morgan looks at some of his previous projects where PCB’s were used as constructive panels in designs fuelling the need for a more interactive link between FreeCAD and KiCad. Towards the end of the talk we get to see glimpses of really powerful workflow ideas, for example Morgan shows updating an edge cut layer line in KiCad to change the shape of the board outline and this is automagically updated in the FreeCAD preview. We look forward to seeing KiConnect develop.
